So when is it ok to show some bare leg? You don’t want to be the only one out there showing some skin, especially whiter then white legs.
I think its ok to show some skin when your weather is consistently warmer then 20 degrees Celsius. (longer then 1 week!) That means that hear on the west cost its usually ok to wear shorts in May, but if your a Manitoban its probably going to mean only wearing shorts in June or July.
But FIRST and foremost you must not have pasty legs!!! So, if you’re not into tanning beds, or you didn’t just come home from Mexico, I would suggest some self tanning lotion.
If you are really pale (like me) I would suggest Jergins Natural Glow. You can gradually build up the color, which means you wont get streaks!
If you are blessed with darker skin, I would suggest Neutrogena Instant Bronze, its more of a liquid foam, and the color goes on quite strong, but wont turn you orange. If you find its too strong just mix it with your regular body lotion.
If you will be attempting tanning lotion for the first time here are a few tips:
-exfoliate your skin before using!
-less is more, rub it in as much as you can!
-use less lotion around the knees and ankles
-let the lotion sink in, try not to wear pants for at least 30 mins after using, or it will get on your clothing or cause streaks
- WASH YOUR HANDS!!!!! Make sure you wash in between your fingers and up to your wrist, you don’t want to end up with orange palms!
